ETCHING
Mission Statement:
Etching is a multifaceted work that helps children from 0-18 years of age that have an educational, emotional, social or physical need. During Jesus' brief time on earth, He loved on children and taught adults to value them. Etching desires to model that love and care in practical ways to children and their family through the provision of everyday needs, mentoring, trauma training and education support.
Problem being solved?
There is a large population of children both in the US and abroad that have experienced trauma, have physical, social/emotional, or academic needs. The children need someone to mentor them, spend time with them, teach them various activities/
How are you solving it?
Through physical (food, clothing, activities, equipment to do activities), emotional (hands on with evidence based interventions), social (one on one or small group activities). outdoor activities/training & equipment, and education (support for schooling, training of families and professionals).
Why are you qualified?
I am a nationally certified school psychologist, dual certified teacher, and a TBRI Practitioner.
What is the urgency?
There are many children that have a need both in Oceana and surrounding Michigan counties. Oceana county has more people in poverty than the national average, and is ranked one of the highest counties to have homeless elementary aged students.
