Because Justice Matters (BJM) is a nonprofit, faith-based ministry in San Francisco run by volunteer staff, all of whom are passionate about building pathways to brighter futures for women and girls in urban communities like San Francisco's Tenderloin. We do this through providing free creative arts programs and one-on-one mentoring for youth; building relationships with and providing support for women experiencing homelessness; facilitating brave spaces for mothers to support one another as they navigate the challenges of raising a family in a low-income neighborhood like the Tenderloin; and providing holistic support and referrals for women working in the adult entertainment industry.
As a volunteer-staff member for BJM, I will be primarily launching and directing our youth theater department. I plan to facilitate a space where girls can perform, design, and write stories for the stage, all the while bolstering their self-confidence, stretching their creative capacities, and developing lasting relationships with one another and with BJM staff members as they live fully and freely into the story God is writing for their lives.

Thank you so much for being an essential ministry partner! None of this happens without you.
