Eagles Wings is a retreat and conference center, and guesthouse in the Great Rift Valley above Lake Naivasha in Kenya.  It serves as a site for outreach in the lake community.  Greg and Deb Snell, who live at Eagles image007Wings, are missionaries with International Christian Ministries, www.icmusa.org  an inter-denominational leadership training ministry for the African church based in Kitale, Kenya.

image003Throughout 30 years of working and living in Africa, Greg Snell has developed a philosophy of how to appropriately help address the needs of Africans and support their initiatives.  To read the article printed in Christianity Today, visit the main ministry page on the Eagles Wings website at http://eagleswingskenya.weebly.com The Snells have developed partnerships with local African programs, linking opportunity to come alongside and provide resources difficult for them to access or obtain following their own African initiative in raising support for their needs.  VisionVentures is an Eagles Wings program providing opportunity for travel to Kenya for short term church teams, teachers and others who want to visit to discover what God may have planned for them.

St. Andrews Tarabete Secondary School is supported by Eagles Wings.  It is a High School serving a poor slum community, the only one on the North Side of the lake.  Their primary needs are for solar power (there is no power), construction of a girls-at-risk dormitory, text book packages for each student, and teacher and student subsidies.  It is a perfect place for volunteer teams to do construction projects alongside the students and sports programs, and for volunteer teachers.Eagles Wings Ministry Center is subsidized in order to provide retreats, conferences andimage023 meetings for the community.  Gifts to the operating ministry fund allow Eagles Wings to charge an affordable but not sufficient fee to make these events possible for the African participants.  Eagles Wings also serves as a home base for visiting teams and teachers who come to serve these projects.  The guesthouse and self-catering cottage provide a venue for accommodations and meetings.

In addition to providing training for pastors and church leaders Eagles Wings sponsors events to raise awareness of public health issues, marriage image021and family retreats and seminars, conflict resolution, and soon will develop micro-economic businesses for women’s groups in the village.

Eagles Wings is privileged and proud to encourage people like James Chege and the Mwangi children with gifts toward their support.  These are just two project possibilities.  The On Eagles Wings newsletter can be viewed on our website http://eagleswingskenya.weebly.com

James was an 8 year old street boy helping his widowed mother sell vegetables on the streets of Kitale in 1996.  The Snells recognized the potential and determination in James and supported him through high school.  James wants to be a doctor.  He is now married with a little boy and his wife operates a small business in Kitale.  James has managed to be accepted and has paid for his first term of University, but needs additional support to continue.

All these projects and others are supported through Eagles Wings and facilitation of tax-deductible donations through New Horizons Foundation. Please notify Deb Snell (below) of a designated gift.
