We have distributed over 600 household water filters to date (2019, 2023). The Tagbanwa who have used these filters report major improvement in quality of life. We have seen major reduction of water born illness in our most recent medical team visit (January 20-204) compared with previous clinics in 2014 and 2019.

The initial water filter project hastwo primary focuses:

-household water filters We hope to provide a water filter for every Tabanwa household in the Calamian Tagbanwa villages

-larger water filtration systems for schools, health clinics and other public facilities

Beyond basic water filtration we are targeting improving the water supply including documenting all water sources and installing pumps in as many locations as possible. We also hope to work with the public schools to implement an education program in the Tagbanwa villages about water born illness and the importance of maintaining a sanitary water supply.
