Hungry children in Cuba are fishing for food to eat and eating with dirty hands on the streets. They need food to eat, and they need to know that Jesus Christ loves them.

The Cuban Church understands that the lack of food hinders community outreach. One pastor described Service and Evangelism like two wings of a bird: If either wing is missing, the bird cannot fly. Achieving food sustainability would free the bird and empower it to fly and spread the Gospel.

Let’s achieve food sustainability as a platform to advance the Gospel in Cuba. Establishing farms in partnership with local churches is a proven concept, with a dozen farms established in Eastern Cuba. A partnership between The Baptist Convention of Eastern Cuba and First Baptist Church, Farmington, Missouri, has received food donations and other resources, resulting in great encouragement for hundreds of pastors in the area. Several churches have adopted this partnership model with farmers to provide food not only to the congregation but also to the community. All the projects include pastors ready to lead and a farmer who is ready to grow. Recently, a student from the seminary leading a farm project reported the conversion of 13 new believers in 3 months

The same model can be established in Sancti Spiritus. God has been going ahead of us. He always does. Emmanuel Baptist Church in Minnesota has partnered with Los Pinos Nuevos Church in Sancti Spiritus since 2016. Pastor Eidy Baquero leads the Los Pinos Nuevos congregation. Pastor Joey and Eidy met last year, and both are eager to work together to adopt the church-farm model in Sancti Spiritus

Invitation to join us in this God-sized project

The Cuban people are vibrant, resilient, and resourceful amid many financial, physical, and spiritual challenges.

The Cuban church is doing a lot with very little. They truly can testify of God’s provision (daily uncertain of whether they will have electricity, water, food, transportation etc.) and to Him miraculous multiplying and stretching resources to the maximum.

Our Cuban brothers and sisters need resources and encouragement. American dollars can go far in Cuba, literally providing seed for the sowers and more.

Finally, our prayers and our contacts remind them that they are not alone in the struggle. Will you join us?
