Urgent Help for Yuri: Emergency Spinal Treatment
$37,494.52 Still Needed
$7505.48 of $45,000 Raised
(Updated: March 3,2026)
Yuri is an 18-year-old young man in the Philippines who loves Jesus and dreams of a full, active life. Just three months ago, he was playing basketball, studying, and reaching out to other youth in his community with the message of Christ. Today, he is paralyzed from the mid-torso down due to a tumor pressing on his spinal cord.
While he waits for treatment in an overcrowded public hospital, his condition continues to worsen. Each passing day increases the risk of permanent spinal damage.
Yuri’s family is doing everything they can — but they can't carry this burden alone.
His father, now in his 60s, struggles with severe vision problems. His mother works long hours at a small corner store to support the household. They are also raising two grandchildren after their daughter was left to provide for her children alone.
To give Yuri a fighting chance to regain function, he must be transferred immediately to a private hospital with specialized neurologists and the proper surgical equipment. Without urgent intervention, his paralysis could become permanent.
We are raising at least $45,000 to cover:
- Emergency transfer to a private hospital
- Advanced diagnostic testing
- Spinal surgery and related hospital costs
- Post-operative care and rehabilitation
- Basic living support for Yuri's family during treatment and recovery
Your generosity can give Yuri a real chance at healing. Every gift — large or small — moves him closer to treatment.
Any funds remaining after Yuri’s medical needs are met will go directly toward supporting other urgent initiatives through Project Tulay.
